Hot Wedding Trends

July 17th, 2013

weddingtrendsEveryone has a unique vision for his or her wedding, but we have seen some fun trends this past year that we would like to share. May they inspire you to create an unforgettable, dream wedding of your own!

Bling is in and it’s here to stay. Hollywood emphasizes glamour, sparkle, shimmer and sequins and we apply all of these decorative accents when we design a room for an event. We add bling to table linens, centerpieces, napkin treatments and more. Anything that reflects light will pop at a wedding. For example, crystalized pieces, suspended candles, glittered trees are all hot items that are available to rent at Xquisite Rentals, or X-Quisite Flowers & Events, Inc. can do all your “bling-centric” wedding design work for you.

Going organic and green-friendly. This trend overlaps with “rustic elegance,” “country chic” and “vintage anything.” The vintage look is popular these days. We utilize farm tables to create a warm atmosphere that brings family and friends together. We detail the farm table with a “just-picked” table scape of flowers presented in mason jars, mini rustic natural birch and wooden boxes. Candlelight vessels in assorted shapes of silver, bronze or gold mercury glass are also very popular.

“Mad Men” returns. Weddings inspired from popular trends of the 50’s and 60’s are in vogue. Bold colors and strong, bold graphic patterns are characteristic of this time, which we use in our design. For example, we use fabrics with great patterns to accent table tops or napkin finishes. Smoky lighting effects are also used to create the intriguing “Mad Men” environment.

Classic beauty inspired by the 20’s-30’s. Many brides and grooms are reliving the rich times of “The Great Gatsby” and “Downtown Abbey” on their big wedding day. This involved the return of nostaglia and anything that makes you feel luxurious. This type of wedding event design includes lush and fully bloomed garden roses accented with old china pieces; antique european furniture and anything to create a romantic environment.

Colors chartruese, emerald green. These hot colors are inspired from the “Emerald City” and the return of the “Wizard of Oz” which appropriately is celebrating their 75th anniversary. The color green creates a natural feeling atmosphere filled with fresh air. The color also make people feel peaceful and healthy, which is a nice tone to create at a wedding.

The return of the white party. Over the summer, many brides and grooms want to create an elegant, white-themed environment. To satisfy this trend, we include white damask fabric, lush white flowers, oversized napkins, lace and anything luxurious in our design. Modern white furniture and light-up white furniture is used to create alternate style seating vignettes. This creates sophistication over opulence, yet is elegant. For some nice finishing touches, we bring in fire pits, copper tiki torches, fire tables as well as herbal ice teas and cucumber water.
