As the couple said ‘I do’, they stood underneath a lush chuppah with a crown of white hydrangea, white Hawaiian dendrobium orchid sprays and white garden roses. The bottom of the chuppah was outfitted with a pleated fabric finish. Between the soft uplighting and the suspended twinkling gold mercury votives along the outside back wall of custom white drapery, the ceremony exuded a romantic elegance.
The bride’s classic bouquet was created with white roses and hydrangea. The bridesmaid’s formal clutches of fresh white roses were a nice contrast to the the black dresses they wore. The groom’s boutonniere was a white rose with eucalyptus seed accent.
Guests were greeted at the reception with a simple, yet elegant, presentation of escort cards on raised mirror blocks accented with floating candles in tall, glass cylinder vases and white rose petals.
Inside during the reception, guests sat at tables boasting elegant floral centerpieces of white hydrangea, roses and stock in tall glass Palace vases. Romantic monet candle stands surrounded the formal centerpieces on the ivory dupioni silk linens we provided.
Our team used soft amber/pink up lighting throughout the room to create the ambient mood. We also used pin spot lighting on all of the guest tables to highlight the centerpieces. For the reception, we repurposed elements from the ceremony to decorate the bandstand staging area. The floral chuppah crown was used to adorn the dance floor area while the wall from the ceremony was used behind the band’s stage.
As always, it was a pleasure working with party planner, Melisa Ludlow Imberman and a huge thank you to Fred Marcus Studio for capturing all the details!

15 years ago we provided decor for the Bride’s Bat Mitzvah – and her sister’s Bat Mitzvah a couple of years later. Trusting a wedding vendor is much simpler when you’ve worked together before, and the wedding design process is smoother when you’ve seen what your wedding designer can do. Not to mention the daunting task of creating striking floral arrangements for a wedding at a historic landmark that boasts 28 specialty gardens! Luckily, X-Q designed weddings at NY Botanical in 2014 and 2015.
The natural tablescape of mismatched vases, glass bottles and wooden vessels created a floral runner effect that brought the tent to life!
X-Quisite Flowers & Events provided flower arrangements, bridal bouquets, floral details, linens and a custom lighting design for this June wedding. (more…)
In the 25 years that X-Quisite Flowers & Events has been making our Westchester clients’ event design visions a reality, we have never been given such a short timeline to produce an event as intricate and creative as with this Bamboo Oasis Garden Wedding held at Brae Burn Country Club in 2012.
And we loved every minute of it!
When Weiyi and Jason talked about their dream wedding, they spoke of exchanging vows in a beautiful, magical forest, subtly reminiscent of the fantasy art themes found in Dungeons & Dragons, the game that first brought them together when they met at a sci-fi convention years earlier. Diane admits, upon originally hearing about their vision, she had a brief “oh my goodness” moment, and wondered how it could be done. But, that feeling was gone as quickly as it had come, and she decided, as usual, that she was definitely up for the challenge.
“It was impossible not to be inspired by Weiyi and Jason, because they were so excited about their wedding, and so clear in their vision of what their perfect day would look like. I’m always passionate about my work, but their enthusiasm really motivated me to create an absolutely picture-perfect event for them.”
